Alright, y'all - I had this fabulous post written up about the benchmarks of changing families and what a fantastic honor it is to document the beautiful chaos of growth, and...it got wiped. I don't have time to rewrite with this crazy schedule - I hit bed at 4 a.m. this morning, and I'm writing this at lunch after wrapping my the 4th of eight shoots I've got this week. But! There's still a whole heck of a lot of cuteness and some cliff notes for ya - and it all starts with a table. Yeah. A table.
When I first met my sweet cousin Tess 4 years ago on a chilly February day in Manhattan, we did most of her session next to the bright and sunny window looking out on the skyline.
Tess became a big sister to Elle, and we used woodgrain and sunlight again to cuddle up with this sweet sister set.
And now we welcome sweet sibling number three - baby brother Royce. So of course we carry on the beautiful tradition of shooting on this beautiful table!
It's always such a dynamic shift from the tentative tenderness of fragile and new baby number one, to the more laid-back cool cucumber vibe for second child, on to the crazy hilarious overflow of pandemoneous love for the third child. Of course every family is a little different, but I definitely see this trend time and time again, and I freakin' love it.
I'm a strong supporter of always jumping right on in to any delightful chaos, and I always feel like the best pictures come from embracing a moment. Case in point: all of these. Seriously, I love all of the silly faces, all of the big hugs, and bonked heads and sprinting to and fro and in front of the camera.
Seriously, cheers to all my families that hop right on in to the crazy and unabashedly embrace life for what it is. Y'all make my job incredible, and I'm so thankful for every opportunity to run wild with ya! -MEJ
