Ali + Lou's Engagement Session || St. Mary's College of Maryland

It's not every month you spend quite a few hours and over 360 miles hitting up the same amazing location twice for an engagement session, but hey!, this job never ceases to throw strange curveballs like that. My introduction to St. Mary's College of Maryland was with Ata and Taylor, where we went on a literal tour of their favorite spots on campus - rockwalls, bamboo forests, beaches, dorms and gardens - that about covers it, right? Nope. Not even close. Ali and Lou showed me an entirely different side of SMCM, and totally proved to me just how awesome and unique all my clients are. *fist-bump to all of 'em reading this*

It's super important to me to listen to engage with everyone's creative side - yes, trust me, e.v.e.r.y.o.n.e - some people just need a little more poking and prodding to get to theirs. It always yields amazing results when clients run wild with their ideas. Ali and Lou came at me full tilt boogie a bunch of great setups for shots, a cooler full of beer, and a bowtied puppy dog Watson, complete with his handler Extraordinaire, Brooke. First, we paid homage to both Ali and Lou's sportin' skills on the school's big ol' field....

Then we outfit changed and fully embraced puppy love in some seriously golden light...

Not pictured: me falling over laughing hysterically at the things Ali and Lou and Brooke were bantering at each other. Seriously, these guys look all sweet and cuddly, but I had tears in my eyes and grass stains on my butt...

With all the sweatin' and laughter going on behind the camera and between shots, we decided it was definitely necessary to capture these...uh....precious (?) moments, too...

Ahh, summer romance, 3rd-Wheel-Wrangling-A-Dog-Style.

Don't worry, we cut Winston and Brooke loose after that one. We wandered down through Church Point (yay, semi-spooky graveyards!) and on to the water to round out the shoot.

We definitely got some pretty killer sunset shots, especially playing with some off-camera lighting - I seriously love how these turned out!

All in all? I'll I've absolutely loved every second spent on this beautiful campus! Big thanks to Ali and Lou for the awesome shoot (and the delicious beer and pizza at the Green Door after) - y'all rock! -MEJ
