Ohhhh, a fabulous fam session for the books! I knew from the word 'go' I'd love these guys. During our session, Mama K said something along the lines of “your blog always feels so personal!” - and I've spent a good bit of time thinking on that. It's never just another family shoot. Even when I'm only spending an hour-ish on a session, there've been introductory e-mails, sometimes chats on the phone planning out a shoot, and then the many hours editing and post-processing and uploading images.
There's that often-said phrase that a picture is worth a thousand words, so you can imagine that in the 500+ images I take in a session, a lot is said. The little looks of adoration (or sometimes hilarious disapproval) at spouses, the good-natured teasing and over the top affection between siblings, the rambunctiously joyful energy of kiddos.
So in turn, I have a lot to say when it comes to the posts I make. These guys? SO. MUCH. to say – I had such a fabulous time sword fighting, dandelion picking, bubble blowing, turtle spotting, and yes, even taking a moment to have a little Wham! dance party mid-session.
Plus, hey - teeny tiny sailor outfit? Excuse me while I die of adorable!
(If you can go ahead and put on "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" while looking at these next few photos, I'd greatly appreciate it...)
When I wasn't breaking in to peals of laughter at silly faces and amazing dance moves, we also talked travel and adventure almost non-stop – I think we could have literally spent all afternoon playing the “have you been/have you seen?” game. What a joy to work with rambling adventurous souls!
So very glad for this beautiful way to kick off a weekend full of shoots - thank you guys for the fabulous session! -MEJ
