On a deliciously cool Sunday morning, I hopped in my car and headed to Northern Virginia to work with the Turner family.
The day before had been so sweltering and sticky that I'd had to stop and buy a clean and dry shirt between my other two sessions, so it was a welcome option to cruise through the morning calm with open windows. I spent the long drive reflecting on the day - September 11th - achingly sad for the many obvious reasons this date annually carries with it. It was a bittersweet little serendipity to grab this photo while setting up for our session, and it felt appropriate to give the proper nod.
But now without further ado, I'll bring the focus back to this beautiful family, and their newest little lady!
Hannah was sleeping sweetly for most of our shoot, while Caroline was absolutely cracking me up with her huge vocabulary and bright, big smiles. When her parents asked her to "say cheese for Miss Mary!" she literally said "cheese for Miss Mary!"
Thanks, y'all, for having me to your lovely home and hanging out with your gang! -MEJ
