Emily and I went to high school together, Brent and I graduated from the same fine art school, and we were all living together in Savannah around the same time. Now we're all back in Maryland, and they've got a newly minted little dude that I was so glad I got to photograph!
Emily and Brent invited me up to Baltimore to their beautiful row house that they remodeled in to a charming and comfortable home full of sunlight and lovin'. Sullivan was just over a month old at our session, and he was one of the most emotive little ones I've ever photographed. I couldn't help but laugh constantly while editing these photographs, he pulled some seriously silly faces throughout.
A little accident at the beginning of the shoot with my shutter speed a little too long; it made for the really painterly photo on the left - I just love Emily's content smile in that one.
Emily was telling me about the labor experience, and she told me that she fell in love with Brent all over again through it. Not that she needed to point that out, exactly, because you can honestly see how absolutely sweet on each other they are, and so head over heels in love with Sullivan. (Seriously, insert all of the heart-eyed emojis here!)
We meandered down to the waterfront for the last little bit of our shoot, but not before hunting down Miss Twist. A hot and muggy summer night + a cold twist cone = total bliss!
Thank you guys so much for such a fun and easy shoot - y'all are the best! :) -MEJ
