Ahh, Niki and Laura – what a day! It was one of pure joy; first, hiding behind anxious and nervous smiles that gave way to broad grins and damp eyes, and finally to exuberant laughter and dancing.
These ladies were such a blast to work with, not only for their excitement but for double the bride goodness! There was no shortage of sweet details, many of which were hand-made by friends + family of the couple. Even the name cards for seating at the reception were cut from the Christmas Tree that Laura had used to propose to Niki with!
The ladies had a sweet little first look just before the ceremony, with their wedding party and closest family looking on (and maybe tearing up juuuuust a little).
The ceremony was officiated by the couple's dear friend and local legend Bobby Hunt. He officially welcomed everyone to the wedding, and then just as officially used his position at the top of hour to take a pre-”I-do” selfie. I generally don't approve of whipping out a cell phone mid-ceremony, but this definitely gets my stamp of approval!
Guests noshed on tasties and sipped the signature cocktail of the day, Blackberry Mojitos, while the family and wedding party hammed it up for their formal portraits.
The skies were grey for most of the day, but that didn't get anyone down. In fact, the overcast skies made the magentas and reds and blues the brides had chosen for their accent colors positively shine out.
In fact, the skies cleared towards sunset for a wonderfully dreamy golden light that led on to a beautiful night sky!
