Leigh + Miranda || Patapsco Female Institute

I've shot some pretty non-traditional weddings in the past - on boats and beaches, at Renaissance faires and resorts. But I think Leigh + Miranda's big day definitely takes the cake. The two got hitched at the Patapsco Female Institute, which is a free standing ruin. Spooky enough on it's own, they set their date for none other than Halloween and went huge with the October holiday theme.

The devil is always in the details, and they certainly got it down to a science - there were vampire teeth card-holders, orange and black everywhere, skulls in the bouquet, costumed guests + caterers, and even spiders in Miranda's hair and on her shoes.

Not only was the unique theme enough to set me in to super-excitement mode, we also had incredible fall weather. Blue skies, vibrant leaves, and just a hint of cooler air for the evening's festivities.

The ceremony was officiated by siblings, and finalized with a rockin' sax solo.

Night quickly fell, and the cover of darkness brought out everyone's wild-side. There were even a few costume changes - my favorite was Miranda's dad, who went from his Father of the Bride suit and duties to Slim-Jim passing out Macho Man Randy Savage.

I could not have had more fun with this group of awesome guests - huge congratulations to Leigh and Miranda on their spooky I-Do's! Be sure to check out the full gallery here.
