Dorothy + Andrew || Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, Maryland

Things don't always go as planned at weddings. You can plan and fret and check and recheck, but something is going to happen. There are certain things you -just- can't control, and weather is generally the #1 bandit in the Wedding Happenings category.

Sometimes it rains. A lot. And sometimes the tide is high. Really high. So high that guests have to be ferried in trucks to the wedding location.

But you know the old saying, rain on a wedding is good luck? Yeah, I always thought that was just something fluffy to say to console brides. But it's true! If not good luck, it makes for GREAT shooting. Overcast skies make for really beautiful, soft light in the worst case, and in the best case, it lets color really pop.

Dorothy + Andrew's wedding was an absolute best case scenario - not only did the rain pass and leave a fresh coat of glistening rain on all the greenery, but the colors they'd chosen for their day looked incredible with the soft grey skies!

Super fun wedding parties are a close second - these guys were a blast.

Be sure to check out the rest of the photos here. Congratulations, Dorothy and Andrew - cheers to not letting a little rain dampen your spirits!! -MJ
